Quran Teacher

Job description

Furqaan Academy is seeking a passionate and dedicated Quran Teacher who is committed to nurturing a love for the Quran in young learners. 

• Hafidh/Hafidha of Quran 
• Proficiency in Tajweed rules 
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills 
• Previous teaching experience with different age groups is preferred 
• Authorization to work in United States is required 
• Ijazah Certificate is preferred but not required 

Responsibilities

• Assist students in Full-time Hifdh and Integrated program with memorization of the holy Quran
• Teaching the Arabic alphabet  (Al-Qaidah An-Noraniah) and recitation of the Quran with basic Tajweed rules
• Mentor, prepare, motivate and develop memorization skills of children who are planning to become huffadh 
• Following a process for frequent reviews and tracking progress of students
• Providing feedback to parents and principal 
• Evaluating students and conducting periodic examinations, & competitions
• Developing and instilling Islamic values and convictions in the students
• Maintaining discipline, motivating and encouraging student involvement in all Hifdh related programs 
• Reporting discipline issues through school form to the parents
• Conducting Parent-Teacher conferences in school
• Prepare, motivate and encourage students to participate in out of school competitions
• Supervise students during different activities, prayers, lunch and play time
• Substitute when other Quran teachers are absent
• Support school mandated policies

School Nurse

Job Description 

The School Nurse promotes and maintains the health and well-being of students and staff by providing basic healthcare services, managing health records, responding to medical emergencies, and supporting a safe school environment. 

Duties and Responsibilities 

• Provide first aid and basic medical care to students and staff as needed. 
• Assess student health concerns and determine appropriate care or referrals.
• Administer medications according to physician orders and school policies. 
• Maintain student health records as per ISBE requirements. 
• Monitor and manage student health conditions, including allergies, asthma, diabetes, and other chronic illnesses. 
• Communicate with parents/guardians regarding student health concerns, illnesses, injuries, and medication needs. 
• Respond to medical emergencies and coordinate emergency care when necessary.
• Ensure compliance with state and local health regulations and school policies. 
• Conduct health screenings as required (e.g., vision, hearing, immunization compliance).
• Educate students and staff on health, wellness, hygiene, and disease prevention. 
• Collaborate with administrators, teachers, parents, and healthcare providers to support student health needs. 
• Maintain inventory and supplies. 
• Ability to respond quickly to medical emergencies. 

Qualifications 

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Illinois. 
• CPR and First Aid certification. 
• Previous pediatric, school nursing, or community health experience preferred. 
• Knowledge of student health regulations, medication administration, and emergency procedures.
• Strong communication, organizational, and recordkeeping skills.

Gym Teacher

Job Qualifications

Elementary Homeroom Teacher

Furqaan Academy is looking for highly energetic, enthusiastic candidates passionate about teaching our young children in Early Childhood, Elementary, Middle, and High School departments. New, experienced, and Subject teachers are encouraged to apply.

Job Description:

Primary responsibility is to educate students by delivering engaging, informative lessons in a structured and supportive environment. Teachers must design and implement a curriculum that aligns with the educational standards for their subject and grade level. Teacher’s responsibilities

• Ensuring that the classroom remains safe and conducive to learning.

Arabic teacher

• Bachelor’s degree in related subject from accredited university preferred
• Experience in a classroom environment or tutoring, or at least one year of student teaching or approved internship preferred.
• Knowledge of subjects assigned.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instructions.

Major Responsibilities: 

Duties of this job include, but are not limited to:

• Immerse students in the Arabic language by using language teaching techniques rather than translating everyday.
• Use less English in Arabic class.  Create independent students who will rely on asking themselves questions to answer your questions, more than waiting for translation on a daily basis.
• Teach students how to read, write, understand, and speak foreign languages.
• Provide individualized and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student.
• Create instructional resources for use in the small group instruction.
• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities
• Create a positive educational climate for students to learn in.
• Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
